A number of dual carriageway schemes are planned for the Cork-Waterford N25 road, which is also Euroroute E30. In the interests of cohesion, and to complete the strategic route to a consistent standard, it makes sense to join these disconnected sections up with around 50 km of new roadway, including the extension of the New Ross bypass east of Waterford down to Rosslare. This latter section connects with the proposed new Enniscorthy-Rosslare road.
Please take a minute to answer a very short survey on your opinion of this road proposal.
Cian thinks this is great; he rates it 4/10 and its alignment 7/10; but reckons the standard should be higher. He has the following comment to make:
"I like the idea of a M25, but we've laid the foundations already and it could happen."
Another fan gives a rating of 10/10 but the alignment 5:
"Badly needed - Castlemartyr and Killeagh bypasses should also be prioritised."
JKPulla has mixed feelings: the scheme gets 10 but the alignment only 5 and should be higher spec:
"Urgent need to resurface road on entrance to Castlemartyr.
Why has this village not been bypassed years ago?
Also the same for Killeagh."
Mike Sheehan thinks this should be higher spec:
"Motorway standard. Traffic will only increase and it's to be built for future generations also."
He rates it 10/10 but the alignment only 4/10:
"Sadly the "Atlantic Corrridor" scheme has stalled due to many factors. Hopefully the N25 can be upgraded soon. Some sections of a very poor standard."
Someone rates this 10/10 and the alignment 7. However they would like it to be "higher spec - MOTORWAY".
A person rates this 10/10 and the alignment 1 and has this to say:
"It's Midleton to start of Youghal bypass is the problem. BYPASS Castlemartyr and Killeagh please as soon as possible!!!"
Someone rates this 10/10 and the alignment 10:
"Please do it as soon as possible."
TXMick rates this 10/10 and the alignment 7:
"Dual carriageway urgently needed between Waterford Bypass and future New Ross Bypass.
Winding section between Youghal and Dungarvan should also be a priority."
Leo rates this 10/10 on both counts:
"Congestion around Killeagh and Castlemartyr is very bad.
The N25 should be dual carriageway from Midleton to Waterford which would reduce travel time and help the economy."
Someone likes this a lot, rating it 10/10 on both counts but they reckon it should be higher spec:
"This should be a motorway with a 120 km/h speed limit.
100 km/h is too slow and it should be classified as a motorway at all costs. Why doesn't the Waterford Bypass have a 120 km/h speed limit?
I do understand back in 2009 that there were no plans to build N/M25 all the way from Cork to Wexford."
Casey rates this 10/10 and thinks the standard is right.
Dan rates this 9/10 and the alignment 10, but thinks it should be higher spec.
